Biography

Spin the Sun is a reference to the Foo Fighters song, "Aurora" (on the album "There is Nothing Left to Lose"...treat yourself and give it a listen). The lyric goes: "Hell yeah, I remember Aurora. Take me now...we can spin the sun around...and the stars will all come out...and we'll turn and come back down." I'm a Foo fan (not a crazy one...I do not know where Dave Grohl lives or anything...although I did dream once that he professed undying love for me and said he would leave his wife for me...but while I think he is a musical genius, I think he really should stay with his wife and child). It's a beautiful piece of music, one of my absolute favorite songs.

I'm a 34 year old college student, runner, and most importantly, devoted auntie. I wouldn't have it any other way. Most of the time. The rest of the time I would have it ANY OTHER WAY. I would already be a college graduate with a mortgage. And many husbands and a child...wait, the other way around. Or not, my grandmother was married 5 times. To 4 different men. You can't fight genetics.

I am also a newly diagnosed Type II diabetic. So in addition to my blog about my "regular" life, A Horrible Warning, I have added one devoted to my "D life," The Fall of a Former Carb Queen. I guess I'm trying to avoid subjecting anyone who isn't fascinated by annoying chronic progressive diseases and those who complain about them to it.

If you read either of my blogs very very fast and in that very very fast reading do not pronounce all of the words all of the way in your head, then you may as well be talking to me. Good luck with that. Oh, and add in a hint of Valley Girl accent (even if I don't use the word "like" profusely, it is safe to assume it is implied, many times) from my suburban LA upbringing.

I currently live in Sacramento and am but a humble civil servant. And I LIKE it. My parents (who are still married, 37 years and counting) and two younger sisters (one is 31, and I usually refer to her as my sister, and the other is 22 and I usually refer to her as my YOUNGEST sister...uh huh, specific) are still in SoCal, and consequently, so am I on about a monthly basis. I am so screwed when I go to trade my car in on the mileage alone.

My sister is a newlywed with a 3 year old daughter, The Chipmunk, and an infant daughter, Ruffle Butt, who I love more than any other living people, I think. I rhapsodize about them often.

I sing loudly and badly in the car with the windows open. I am a total motor mouth. I watch way too much TV and eat too many grilled cheese sandwiches. I only puke up alcohol when I am out of town. I fall down all the time, and it is always when I'm sober and have an audience. In short, I am awesome.
