    My Seven

I was tagged by Aimee for a meme, way back on March 18th. I kept meaning to post about it, and kept forgetting. It's not that I wasn't reading Aimee's blog, I pinky swear (Aims, that you see on your stats? Was me getting the link...I double dog swear, or something). It is that I am lazy. And just a little drunk sometimes. Or busy eating candy. Or doing something useless like sleeping.

So this meme, here is the gist of it: "List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what they are. They must be songs you are presently enjoying. Then tag seven other people to see what they’re listening to." I will try to stick to things y'all will know, but no guarantees.

    1. In my ongoing addiction to Nickelback (I so thought I would be sick of them by now, but mmm, no), their CD has been on heavy rotation in the car, especially before a run. Especially the song "Side of a Bullet." It is also in my running mix on my as of yet unnamed MP3 player. It's about the onstage murder of Dimebag Darrell of Pantera and Damageplan (I was waiting for their tour to come to Sac when it happened, and lo, I was bummed). In case you are unfamiliar, several people, including the gunman, were killed in the club in Ohio, and Vinnie Paul Abbott, Dime's brother, saw him die. The whole situation was, in a word, fucked.

    2. Haven't popped for the CD yet, but I am digging the Killers, especially "When You Were Young".

    3. Velvet Revolver = Stone Temple Pilots + Guns N' Roses = Love. Their song "Loving the Alien" isn't on the radio, but it's beautiful both in melody and lyrics.

    4. This one is my parents' fault. I love Chicago because of them, and "Beginnings" is one of their best.

    5.  This is another CD I have neglected to purchase, but I will soon because not only is Pete Yorn an awesome musician, but he is uberhot. "For Us" is his newest single. His lyrics are always a bit puzzling, but I love this song anyway.

    6. There's always a Foo Fighters tune with me. Everlong (the video for which I hadn't seen until I was looking up that link, believe it or not) is one of those perfect songs you can never let go of. Plus, David Letterman can't be wrong. OK, he probably can. But not this time. It is my favorite song from my favorite band, too.

    7. This last one is one of my favorites of all-time. It's kind of obscure, but you'd probably know it if you heard it...and maybe even if you read the lyrics. It's a Spacehog song (their lead singer is married to Liv Tyler, BTW) from the 90s called "In the Meantime." It's just delicious.

I could talk all day about music. There is always a soundtrack to my life. I even have my satellite radio on my desk at work. Me and silence aren't such good friends. I know, you're shocked.

Let's see if I can think of seven people to tag: I think I shall choose Daily Tragedies, Superfantastic, Juliness, Shoparound, and Aly (although I seem to remember her already doing it...but it's been so long, maybe it's changed!). Um, that's not seven...I need to get around to these things quicker, folks...

Niiiice choices. I had to stop by and be nosey. I need some more running songs.. I'm wearing mine out.

Lately, I'm loving "Sick and Tired" by Anastacia (old, I know!) and "My Friend" by Groove Armada. Ohhh, and "Beautiful Liar". Yes.

Mark and I watched that Pantera special that was all about the band and the shooting and stuff. WE're dorks too! woot!
